I had the pleasure of going to the AGO for the latest exhibition The Great Upheaval. It was a beautiful exhibition with some of the most innovative artists. The exhibition showcased work from 1910-1918 which was a period where artists were starting to experiment within there work and began to get away from the realism period to explore painting with there imagination and life experiences alone. It was also a time where travelling by train and connecting by telephone was becoming more accessible. This allowed artists to start forming groups and movements more easily among each other.
You can see through there work a sense of freedom to explore! Some of the pieces stood out to me more then others but my absolute favourite was "Blue Mountain" by Wassily Kandinsky.
I was inspired to create an outfit based on this piece!
